Whuthering Heights- By Emily Bronte

Whuthering heights is the dramatic story about Catherine growing up with Heathcliff,(protagonist, and antagonist to other characters) her step brother. As the two grow up, they begin to grow very close friends yet they do not marry, because Catherine believes she would be degraded to do so (However they still remain close friends). Believing that Catherine does not love him anymore, Heathcliff disappears for three years, and when he comes back, he visits her at her home, where she now lives with her husband Edgar Linton. As the story continues, Heathcliff devotes his entire life to gain revenge on Edgar Linton, because Catherine only married Linton for his high state. Due to his upbringing, Heathcliff reverts to his darker side, and proceeds to ruin the lives of all about him.

A slightly depressing love story, but amazingly well written and has a relatively happy ending.
