Mr. Sticky

Mr. Sticky is a story about a girl and her favorite snail. In my opinion the author does a fine job with the setting of the short story. The details such as " her Mum said, trying to put on her coat and eat toast at the same time." gave me the feeling that the family was in the kitchen on a busy school morning. The mood of the story was never shown except in the dialogue. The over all mood of the story is "light", as Abby and Mum find ways of caring for and helping the small snail. The most exciting part of the short story was when the snail goes "missing". Abby and Mum have an argument and the mood gets a little tense. By the end of the story every one is happy and the mood is joyful.
