Poison by Roald Dahl

This is a short story that took place in India during modern times. A man who comes home to find his friend who was staying with him lying in bed. His friend tells him there is a poisonous snake on his belly and he had been lying their for hours. The man calls the doctor who comes right over and gives the man in bed a shot to help against the poison if the snake bites him. The man then goes to the doctors home to pick up an anesthetic to inject in the snake. The doctor injects it into the blankets then they pull off the blankets to find the snake isn't there. The doctor says the man the bed was a lair and storms off. the other man says you must have dreamed it. the man who was in the bed also gets mad and goes to bed
