Let the Cards Decide

This short story is about a woman who was "bought" against her own will by a rough man who was on his way west, and how she is saved by a cardsharp.

Louis L'Amour did an excellent job creating an easy-to-understand setting, while adding plenty of details, such as what time it was, or what it was like outside (or inside). He also made the mood very clear and apperant. Louis L'Amour also did a great job at making sure that the details of the setting in his story agreed with the mood, which helped this story make even more sense and much easier for me to track along with and read.

This story was definitely easy to read even though it got complicated at times. Fortunately, I was able to keep tracking along with it because of the well written setting and detail that Louis L'Amour wrote into it.
