one thousand dollars

In the short story of one thousand dollars by O'Henry Gillian,who is very wealthy and spoiled by his rich uncle. one day Gillian is in his office when a man arrives and informs him that his uncle has died and he has inherited one thousand dollars. The man also informs him that in order to spend his money he must keep a log of what he buys and return the log to the man. Gillian finds it rather odd because his uncle had a lot money and he was his uncles only nephew. He cannot decide what to do with the money so he goes to his club and talks about it with one of the guys there old bryson. Old bryson doesn't give him any good ideas,so he leaves and asks a taxi driver what he would do with the money. The driver replies that he would buy a piece of propriety on the corner of two streets where he would build a club three storeys high. Gillian thanks the man and then asks a blind man what he would do. The blind man who is a pencil dealer pulls out his savings passbook, witch has eighteen hundred dollars in it, and replies "I would put it in the bank". Gillian once again thanks the man and goes on his way. Next he goes to the theater and asks miss Lauriere what she would do with the money. She replies "I would use it to buy a diamond pen don I want that is two thousand". Gillian thanks her and goes on his way to miss hayden's house where he figures out what to do with the money.
